Common photo mistakes brides make and how to avoid them!

As your wedding photography and video team in Cincinnati, our job is to make you and your wedding party look as beautiful, put-together, and blissful as you truly are. However, as the bride, there are a few things you’ll want to keep in mind in order to make that happen. Here are a few photo mistakes brides commonly make, and how you’ll be able to avoid them.

NOT STICKING TO THE SCHEDULE

We understand that a wedding day unfolds in its own unique way and requires being flexible. However, to help your wedding day flow seamlessly we will work together to create a timeline. We ask that you please respect the schedule we finalize before the wedding day. Try your best not to rush the photo-taking process or require that we take photos at a different time of day than we originally planned. Not following the schedule also creates the possibility of us not being able to get photos that you really want due to the timing and schedule of ceremony venues or reception entrances.

UNPLUGGED CEREMONY?

When every guest tries to take their own photos with their phone or camera, it can get in the way of your professional photos. Encourage your guests to leave the photos to the pros (especially during the ceremony!) Some brides opt for an “unplugged ceremony” and even place signs as a way to let guests know not to watch the ceremony through their phone.

NOT LIVING IN THE MOMENT

You don’t want a bunch of photos of you looking stressed -- you want photos of you looking happy, carefree, and super in love. So live in the moment! Don’t sweat the small stuff, and enjoy your big day. You planned all of the beautiful details to create your perfect day. Love EVERY moment, because in the blink of an eye, the day will be over. This is just one more reason you'll be glad you are working with pro's. We are there to capture every detail and special moment. Enjoy them and then love them again when you look at your photos and video for the rest of your life!

SKIPPING THE ENGAGEMENT SESSION

Engagement sessions are a great way for you and your partner to feel more comfortable and confident in front of the camera. Plus, it’ll help you get to you know us better and get used to the kind of direction we’ll give you on your wedding day. Our engagement sessions are always fun and relaxed. Don't worry about not knowing what to do in front of the camera. Your session will be full of candid moments and I always give you direction so you know exactly what to expect.

FORGETTING TO PRACTICE HAIR & MAKEUP

Do a trial run of your hair and makeup before the wedding day, so you can get it exactly the way you want it. On your wedding day, try to schedule some time for touch-ups. You deserve to look your best on your wedding day, and you’ll have a lot of photos to show for it. Looking for vendor recommendations? Ask me! I have several amazing pro's that I would love to share with you.
